Amazon is back at it again with another fall Prime Day sale. The retail giant had confirmed back in September that Prime Big Deal Days would return in October, and now we officially have the dates. The upcoming Amazon sale is set to kick off on October 8 and end on October 9. Similar to Prime Day in July, the sale will only run for 48 hours.
When Does October Prime Day Start?
The sale officially begins on Tuesday, October 8 at 12:01 a.m. PT / 3:01 a.m. ET and runs through October 9 at midnight. Amazon has also already launched some early discounts on its own devices and clothing brands, so you can start shopping those deals today. Similar to Prime Day, you will need to have an Amazon Prime membership to shop the full sale.

What Will Be Included In the Sale?
Although we don’t know exactly what deals we will see during October Prime Day this year, we can get a pretty good idea of what to expect from the press release as well as the discounts from last year. First of all, you can expect Amazon device deals to be some of the biggest highlights. We are already seeing those discounts now and we will likely see more. Most notably, last year’s fall Prime Day had the lowest prices on Kindle devices of the year. So if you’re waiting for a Kindle deal, it should be a good time to buy.
The Amazon press release for the event also mentions electronics brands like Beats, Samsung, and Fujifilm which will likely translate to popular deals on headphones and instant polaraid cameras. Both of these categories were big sellers last year. We also expect to see some pretty good discounts on LEGO sets, which has been a common theme for Amazon during every sale so far this year. The October sale is most likely going to be another great time to buy LEGO sets and other popular toy brands.
Considering how close it is to Black Friday shopping season, you can also expect more deals on everyday items than you’d see from other Amazon sales. Things like batteries, home products, beauty products, and even some grocery items will most likely have significant discounts. This sale is a good time to stock up and save on things you’ll need before the holiday season.
Should You Wait for Black Friday Sales?
One of the biggest issues with Amazon’s October sale is its overall proximity to Black Friday 2024. We will start seeing Black Friday deals dropping sometime in late October, and many of these discounts will likely be some of the best of the year so far. Because of this, you will likely want to hold off on making any of your biggest purchases until November. Things like video game consoles and TVs will likely be priced better as we get closer to Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
